Did you know your body thrives in a slightly alkaline state?
We’re made up of around 70% water, and what we eat, drink and absorb plays a big role in our internal pH balance
When your body is too acidic, you may feel tired, inflamed, bloated and over time, it can open the door to more serious issues
Let’s break it down…
What’s the difference between Alkaline & Acidic?
Your body’s pH scale ranges from 0 (very acidic)
To 14 (very alkaline), with 7.35–7.45 being the ideal slightly alkaline range for optimal health
Short-term effects of high acidity:
Heartburn / reflux
Fatigue
Brain fog
Skin breakouts
Bloating and inflammation
Long-term effects of chronic acidity:
Weakened immune system
Joint pain / arthritis
Weight gain or difficulty losing weight
Digestive issues: bloating, gas
Increased risk of illness and disease
Common Acidic Foods to Limit:
Coffee
Alcohol
Red meats
Dairy
Processed foods
Refined carbs: white bread, pastries
Tap water often has a pH of 6.5–7, slightly acidic!
Alkaline-Rich Foods to Add In:
Leafy greens: spinach, kale, rocket
Cucumber
Broccoli & asparagus
Avocado
Lemon
Watermelon
Kiwi & other alkaline fruits
Herbs: parsley, basil and coriander
Nuts & seeds
Let’s talk water:
Most bottled water brands are not truly alkaline, even if the label looks healthy
They often fall around pH 6.5–7 and can be acid-forming, especially if exposed to heat, plastic, or light
What to look for in water:
Choose ionized or mineral-rich alkaline water
Look for a pH of 8.5 or higher
Filtration + alkalizing system at home
Refill at local health food stores or wellness hubs that offer ionized water stations
Why alkalinity matters:
Your body works hard to stay balanced. When it’s constantly fighting off acidity, it uses up vital minerals like calcium and magnesium, leaving you feeling flat and run down
By shifting towards a more alkaline lifestyle, you’re supporting:
Higher energy
Better digestion
Clearer skin
Stronger immunity
And a healthier, happier you
